Home schooling - every day activities can help learn Maths, English and Science

Banana cake

4oz butter/margarine

4oz sugar

2 eggs

4oz of flour

2 ripe bananas mashed

How to:

1. Mix butter and sugar together

2. Add eggs and mix well

3. Sift and add flour

4. Mash the bananas and add to mixture

5. Place in a loaf tin and cook at 160c for around 25 minutes. Check the cake is cooked by placing a non-sharp knife in the middle. If it comes out clean then the cake is fully cooked

Home schooling: This can cover English, maths, and science

English: words of the ingredients, flour, sugar, eggs, and butter

Maths: measuring quantities, timing, temperature, weight and numbers

Science: see you tube video: Click herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrikPxd-NXs Baking a cake with science https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrikPxd-NXs

Extended learning: different ways we can measure ie: cups spoons, scales etc, where our food comes from eggs, flour, sugar and bananas, plus different flavours we can make cakes in using fruit and veg.

Enjoy and have fun whilst learning

Margaret
